Engineering Leadership Presentation

What it was: A presentation I volunteered to develop and deliver for an ELI formal meeting, exploring how a "culture of hurry" shapes student life and offering practical ways to build more intentionality into daily routines.

What it covered:

• The cultural and historical roots of why time feels scarce, from the Industrial Revolution to modern work culture

• How hustle and busyness can get tied to identity and self-worth

• A simple framework connecting who you are, what you value, and how you spend your time

• Practical habits for building margin and rest into a busy schedule

My role: I researched, wrote, designed, and delivered the presentation independently, and created an accompanying take-home reflection worksheet for attendees.

Outcome: The response led ELI's co-advisor to invite me to expand and re-deliver the presentation this fall for incoming freshman classes, with interest in eventually sharing it with the University of Toledo College of Engineering Shah Center for Career Development as well.
